The Work House, Llanberis Slate Quarry painting © Snowdonia, Wales

Llanberis Slate Quarry, situated on the hills of the pen-y-pas valley in Snowdonia. Within this disused Quarry are decaying industrial reminants of a very large scale Slate producing operation. The painting depicts the long Work house were the Slate was cut on large cast iron machines and then sorted to be sent onwards by rail. The roof (what's left) is literally clinging on for survival, I felt it necessary to capture it at this moment as one or two more storms may be all that's left, before it no longer stands so strong.
