Rhyl Sea Front, Denbighshire

depicts a scene of urban transition, an architectural and planning piece that looks at Rhyl, and the transformation of its sea front. In this painting I have particularly looked at the town since its Victorian hay day as a nationally pop beach resort and its recent physical transformation due to a number of factors contributing to Rhyl as we see it today. The scene focuses on the nostalgia of the amusement halls in its contemporary context, with subtle hints at the brighter past. The view I have picked will allow me to intricately depict the details which make this North Wales town so distinctive.
