Hi, I'm an Artist based in North Wales, I like to paint in oils. After studying Architecture in Bristol UWE I began to document the built and natural environment, focusing on the architectural and social context of the areas I paint.

Al Asqa Mosque, Jerusalem © 2017
This beautiful Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam. Originally Built by the Umayyad caliph Abd al-Malik and finished by his son al-Walid in 705 CE. It has been destroyed several times since then by earthquakes. The Mosque’s wall literally erupts out of the ancient southern retaining walls built by Herod when he extended the grounds to accommodate the second temple. In the distance lies the Mount of Olives a mountain populated with thousands of Jewish graves. This mountain has been an active graveyard for over 4000 years and Jews believe this will be the site of the second coming, so I guess they want to be close to the action.
